1 - Connector
- Black, 4-pin
- Before removing, mark connector belonging to component
2 - Hood
- For camshaft position sensor
3 - Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor
- Before removing, mark connector belonging to component
Cylinder bank 1
- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor G40 for intake camshaft
- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 3 G300 for exhaust camshaft
Cylinder bank 2
- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 2 G163 for intake camshaft
- Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor 4 G301 for exhaust camshaft
4 - 10 Nm
5 - 20 Nm
- Tightening torque influences the function of the Knock Sensor
6 - Knock Sensors
- Contact surfaces between Knock Sensor and cylinder block must be free of corrosion, dirt and grease.
Installed location:
- Knock Sensor (KS) 1 G61 , black Knock Sensors 1 and 2 for cylinder bank 1
- Knock Sensor (KS) 2 G66 , brown Knock Sensors 1 and 2 for cylinder bank 1
- Knock Sensor (KS) 3 G198 , orange Knock Sensor 3 for cylinder bank 2
- Knock Sensor (KS) 4 G199 , grey Knock Sensor 4 for cylinder bank 2
7 - 3-pin connector
- Contacts gold plated
- Black for Knock Sensor (KS) 1 G61
- Brown for Knock Sensor (KS) 2 G66
- Orange for Knock Sensor (KS) 3 G198
- Grey for Knock Sensor (KS) 4 G199
8 - Spark plug, 30 Nm
- Type and spark plug gap → Technical data, spark plugs , test data, spark plugs
- Removing and installing with Spark Plug Removal Tool 3122 B
9 - Ignition coil with power output stage (N70 N127, N291, N292, N323 to N326)
