Locking Cable, Adjusting
CAUTION:
Locking cable adjustment must always be performed as described in the following.
Adjustment requirements:
- Locking cable in installation position
- Center console removed.
- Selector lever in position "P".
- Ignition key in removal position.
Adjusting procedure:
- Steering wheel in position fully extended and downward toward floor.
-- Loosen bolt -3- on mounting bracket.
-- Insert Adjustment Pin For Shiftlock 33352A between locking lever -1- and locking cable eyelet -2-.
-- To compensate for play, pull cable sleeve in direction of -arrow- until it stops.
-- Hold cable sleeve firmly in this position.
-- It must be possible to remove and insert Adjustment Pin For Shiftlock 33352A in this position.
-- Tighten bolt -3- at mounting bracket to 10 Nm.
-- Remove adjusting gauge.
-- The function of ignition key removal lock must be checked IGNITION KEY REMOVAL LOCK, CHECKING FUNCTION .
