6 Speed Automatic 09G


Removing control module
- Switch ignition off.
- Remove defroster duct.

Note: The control module connector may only be connected or disconnected once a run-down period of 30 seconds has elapsed after switching the ignition off.





- Release connector (arrow -1-) and disconnect from transmission control module (arrow -2-).

Note: Separating the connector automatically resets the adaptation values of the transmission. The control module must relearn the values once the transmission is operational again. The quality of the gear changes may deteriorate during the learning phase.

- Remove nuts (arrow-3-).
- Remove control module.

Installing control module
Install in reverse order.





- When reinstalling multi-pin connector, fit connector onto pin of control module -J217- (arrow -1-) and then lock multi-pin connector in position (arrow -2-).
- Tighten nuts (arrow -3-) to 10 Nm.
- Connect VAS 5051 and advance through programs until "Functions/selecting component" is displayed.
- Then press "Drive (Repair group. 01; 10...26; 28...39)".
- Then press "6-speed automatic transmission O9G".
- "01. Press self-diagnosis".
- Press "Functions".
- Press "Initiate basic (default) setting".
