The ATF pump is driven by the torque converter - arrows  -.

When installing the torque converter, ensure that drive engages in the recesses in ATF pump inner wheel.

The converter is correctly installed when the value of dimension - a  - between o transmission housing flange and contact surface of stud bolts of torque converter is

• 21 mm in 4-cylinder engines
• 17 mm in 5 and 6-cylinder engines

• It is essential to make sure that dimension - a  - is maintained during further assembly. The converter is not allowed to slip forwards.
