Reading Measuring Value Block
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Volkswagen EuroVan, 2000 Volkswagen EuroVan, 1999 Volkswagen EuroVan, and 1997 Volkswagen EuroVan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Use an assistant to perform the following test.
- Connect Scan Tool (VAG 1551) to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. Input address word 08, AC/HEATING ELECTRONICS. Press right arrow button until SELECT FUNCTION XX appears in display. Press buttons "0" and "8" to select READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK function. Press "Q" button to confirm input.
- ENTER DISPLAY GROUP NUMBER XXX should be displayed. Press right arrow button to scroll through value block (display group) numbers.
- Seven measuring value blocks, with 4 measuring channels each, are available. Monitored sensors and components include A/C compressor switch-off conditions, temperature regulator flap motor, central flap motor, footwell/defrost flap motor, airflow flap motor and motor potentiometers.
- Measuring value block function monitoring includes display and measuring values of all ambient, fresh air intake duct and in-car temperature sensors. Voltage at fresh air blower, engine speed, A/C compressor speed and vehicle speed are monitored. Inputs from Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, kick-down switch, A/C compressor engagement and A/C high-pressure switch are also monitored. See DISPLAY GROUPS & DISPLAY FIELDS table. Memory diagnostic channels identify individual circuits, and are not fault codes.
NOTE:
Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) after performing reading measuring value block.
