A/C System Performance

  1. Park vehicle out of direct sunlight. Start engine. Set A/C-heater control head temperature control to LO (maximum cold setting).
  2. Select minimum blower speed (manual override) by pressing decrease blower speed button. Observe front blower speed display in control panel. Adjust air distribution to instrument panel outlets. Insert thermometer in center vent. Raise engine speed to about 1500 RPM. Measure air discharge temperature.
  3. With normal humidity and outside (ambient) temperature between 68-77°F (20-25°C) Temperature should be less than 50°F (10°C) at center vent, with high-side and low-side pressures within specification. See SPECIFICATIONS  . Center vent output temperature can be slightly higher if humidity and or outside temperature is higher.
