CLIMATRONIC Control Module (CCM): Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Volkswagen EuroVan, 2000 Volkswagen EuroVan, 1999 Volkswagen EuroVan, and 1997 Volkswagen EuroVan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Climatronic Control Module (CCM) is integrated with A/C-heater control head and cannot be serviced separately. CCM is equipped with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory which can be checked using Scan Tool (VAG 1551). Automatic climate control system receives input information from various electrical components and sensors. This information is processed by CCM in accordance with specified values which provide corresponding output signals that control electrical components.

A Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set when a malfunction occurs which will have a permanent adverse effect on operation of CCM. If a DTC is present, A/C-heater control head will display flashes for about 15 seconds when ignition is turned on. On malfunctions that do not cause display to flash, CCM allows emergency operation at preprogrammed settings indicated on display.
