A/C Pressure Switch
A/C pressure switch has 3 functions. Switch will turn A/C compressor off when refrigerant pressure drops too low or rises too high and switch radiator fans on as pressure increases. A/C pressure switch contains both a high-pressure and low-pressure cut-out switch. Low-pressure cut-out switch opens the circuit and turns compressor off when pressure drops to 29.4 psi (2.1 kg/cm2 ) or less and closes and allows compressor to run when pressure rises to 43.5 psi (3.0 kg/cm2 ). High-pressure switch opens and shuts compressor off when pressure rises to 464 psi (32.6 kg/cm2 ). Switch closes and allows compressor to run when pressure drops to 348 psi (24.5 kg/cm2 ). A/C pressure switch also contains a switch which will turn radiator fan on at high speed when pressure reaches 232 psi (16.3 kg/cm2 ) and shuts radiator fan off when pressure drops to 181 psi (12.7 kg/cm2 ).
