Parts of the ignition, removing and installing (Vehicles with engine code AFP)

NOTE: Engine Control Module (ECM) with harness connectors. See item 5 in PARTS OF THE FUEL INJECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (VEHICLES WITH ENGINE CODE AFP) .
NOTE: The following list refers to Fig 1.
  1. O-ring 
    • replace
  2. Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor - G40-* 
  3. 10 Nm 
  4. Connector 
    • black, 3-pin
    • For Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor -G40-
    • Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated
  5. Wire routing 
    • for Ignition Coil -N152-, item 7
  6. Connector 
    • 5-pin
    • for Ignition Coil -N152-
  7. Ignition Coil -N152-* 
  8. Cover piece 
  9. 3-pin harness connector 
    • brown
    • For Knock Sensor (KS) 2 -G66-
    • Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated
  10. 20 Nm 
    • Tightening torque affects function of Knock Sensor (KS)
  11. Knock Sensor (KS) 2 -G66-* 
    • Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated
    • contact surfaces between knock sensor and cylinder block must be free of corrosion, dirt and grease
    • Component location: between cyl. 4 and cyl. 6
    • Checking. See CHECK KNOCK SENSORS .
  12. Sensor wheel 
    • For Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor -G40-
    • Contact surface at camshaft chain gear and sensor wheel must be dry when installing
    • if sensor wheel has been removed, check timing after installation
  13. Camshaft chain sprocket 
  14. Camshaft roller chain 
  15. Knock Sensor (KS) 1 -G61-* 
    • Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated
    • contact surfaces between knock sensor and cylinder block must be free of corrosion, dirt and grease
    • Component location: between cyl. 1 and cyl. 3
    • Checking. See CHECK KNOCK SENSORS .
  16. 3-pin harness connector 
    • white
    • For Knock Sensor (KS) 1 -G61-
    • Terminals of sensor and connector are gold-plated
  17. 100 Nm 
    • oil contact surface of bolt head when installing
    • to remove and install, counter-hold at camshaft using an open-end spanner (24 mm)
  18. Spark plug, 25 Nm 
  19. Spark plug connector with ignition wire and interference suppression connector 
    • 4 to 6 k Ω
