Work sequence
- With engine at idle, connect Scan Tool (ST) VAG1551 / VAG1552 and select Engine Control Module (ECM) J248 with "Address word" 01. → Scan Tool VAS5051 , connecting , Scan Tool VAG1551 , connecting.
Indicated on display:

- Press buttons 0 and 8 for "Read Measured value block" and confirm with Q button.
Indicated on display:

- Press buttons 0 , 1 and 7 for "Display group number 17" and confirm with Q button.
Indicated on display: (1...4 = Display zones)

- Check the readiness code in display zone 2

If specification is obtained:
- Press → button.
- Press buttons 0 and 6 for "End output" and confirm with Q button.
- Switch off ignition.
If specifications are not obtained:
- Press → button.
- Set readiness code → Readiness code, setting
