New Additional Key (Using VAG 1551 Scan Tool)
- Connect scan tool. See Figure .
- Initiate On Board Diagnostic. See INITIATING ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)
under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Rapid data transfer HELP
- Select function XX
- Press buttons "1" and "0" to select "Adaptation," function 10. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Rapid data transfer Q
- 10 - Adaptation
- Press "Q" button to confirm input. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Adaptation
- Enter channel number XX
- Press buttons "0" and "1." Indicated on scan tool display:
- Adaptation Q
- Enter channel number 01
- Press "Q" button to confirm input. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Channel 1......adaptation 1
- Key 1 -1 3-
- The upper line indicates how many keys are supposed to be adapted (1). Press forward (right) arrow button. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Channel 1......adaptation 1 Q
- Enter adaptation value XXXXX
- Press the "0" button 4 times, and then the "1" button. Press "Q" button to confirm input. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Channel 1 adaptation 1 Q
- Key 1 -1 3-
- Indicated on the display is the number of radio-frequency keys to be adapted.
- Press "Q" button to confirm input. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Channel 1 adaptation 1 Q
- Store modified value?
- When "Store modified value?" is indicated on the display, press "Q" to confirm input. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Channel 1 adaptation 1
- Modified value has been stored
- Press forward (right) arrow button. Indicated on scan tool display:
- Rapid data transfer HELP
- Select function XX
- Press one button on the radio-frequency key for at least 1 second within the next 15 seconds.
- Switch off ignition and remote ignition key.
- Perform function test of the radio-frequency key.NOTE: Initialization will be halted when the time of 15 seconds has been exceeded, no free key positions are available or the key has been adapted successfully.
