Work sequence

• With engine at idle, connect Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 / VAG 1552 and select Engine Control Module (ECM) -J248- with "Address word" 01., see VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING .

Indicated on display:

• Press buttons -0- and -8- for "Read measuring value block" and confirm with -Q- button.

Indicated on display:

• Press buttons -0-, -1- and -7- for "Display group number 17" and confirm with -Q- button.

Indicated on display: (1...4 = Display zones)

• Check readiness code in display zone 2

Specification: x000xxxx

• Check readiness code in display zone 4

Specification: 0xxxxxxx

If specification is obtained:

• Press --> button.
• Press buttons -0- and -6- for "End output" and confirm with -Q- button.
• Switch off ignition.

If specifications are not obtained:

• Press --> button.
• Set readiness code, see READINESS CODE, SETTING
