Diesel Glow Plug System, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Checking Conditions 

Checking Sequence 

-- Disconnect harness connector from engine coolant temperature sensor -G62- (-arrow-).

NOTE:

Disconnecting -G62- simulates "engine cold" condition. Switching ON ignition initiates normal glow period.

-- Disconnect glow plug harness connectors from glow plugs.

-- Switch ON ignition.

-- Switch Fluke 83 multi-meter to 20 volt range.

-- Connect multi-meter between cyl. 1 glow plug harness connector and ground then repeat this checking sequence for cylinders 2, 3 and 4.

If no voltage present:

Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM

-- Erase DTC memory DTC MEMORY, ERASING .

-- Set the readiness code READINESS CODE, SETTING .
