Rotation Rate Sensor And Transverse Acceleration Sensor, Through 11.01

NOTE:

Removing and installing rotation rate sensor -G202- and transverse acceleration sensor -G200- is identical except for the direct exchange of the part to be removed.

Removing 

-- For vehicles equipped with coded anti-theft radio, note radio code, obtain if necessary.

-- Disconnect battery.

-- Pry off cover caps -1- and remove screws -2-.

-- Remove switch mount -3- from bracket.

-- Loosen rear cover -1- from instrument panel and pull out.

-- Remove bolt -2- and two bolts -3-.

-- Turn rotating handle -1- of light switch to position 0.

-- Push in rotating handle -arrow A- and turn toward right -arrow B-.

-- Pull switch out of instrument panel -arrow C- and disconnect harness connectors.

-- Unclip switch -2- for headlight range control and disconnect connector.

-- Remove bolt (under cover cap) -arrow- from glove compartment -1-.

-- Remove four bolts -1-.

-- Unclip upper trim -2- and remove from instrument panel.

-- Remove six bolts -3-.

-- Remove baffle plate -4-.

Location: rotation rate sensor -G202- -1- and transverse acceleration sensor -G200- -2- are secured to mounting bracket for steering column -3-.

a - Steering column

-- Disconnect connectors -arrows- from rotation rate sensor -G202- and transverse acceleration sensor -G200-.

-- Remove bolt -1- and remove rotation rate sensor -G202- and transverse acceleration sensor - G200-.

Removing Rotation Rate Sensor -G202- 

-- Remove nuts -a- from rotation rate sensor -G202- -1-.

-- Remove rotation rate sensor -G202-.

Removing Transverse Acceleration Sensor - G200- 

-- Using a screwdriver, pry off bracket -1- from transverse acceleration sensor -G200- -2-.

-- Remove transverse acceleration sensor -G200-.

Installing 

Installing Rotation Rate Sensor -G202- 

-- Insert rotation rate sensor -G202- and align straight.

-- Tighten nuts -a- on rotation rate sensor -G202- -1-.

Installing Transverse Acceleration Sensor - G200- 

-- Insert transverse acceleration sensor -G200- in bracket.

-- Installation position: Angled side -arrow- of transverse acceleration sensor -G200- -1- must face bracket -2-.

-- Slide bracket -2- over transverse acceleration sensor -G200- -1- until it engages.

Rest of installation is in reverse order of removal.

-- Code radio.

Tightening Specifications  
Rotation rate sensor -G202- to bracket 9 Nm
Hex bolt to mounting bracket for steering column 20 Nm
