Intake manifold flap, servicing

Only vehicles with engine code ALH 

When engine is switched off, the intake manifold flap is closed for approx. 3 seconds and then opens again. This reduces the stop jolt.

Checking Change-over valve for intake manifold flap. Refer to Change-over valve for intake manifold flap, checking  .

1 - Intake manifold 

2 - 10 Nm 

3 - O-ring 

• Always replace

4 - Intake manifold 

• With exhaust gas recirculation valve and intake manifold flap
• Check the change-over mechanism for the intake manifold flap for ease of movement and function

5 - 10 Nm 

6 - Gasket 

• Always replace

7 - Connection tube 

• To cooler for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR). Refer to item 10 in Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) components (vehicles with engine code BEW), removing and installing 

8 - 25 Nm 

9 - Vacuum actuator 

• Checking Change-over valve for intake manifold flap. Refer to Change-over valve for intake manifold flap, checking 
• Do not damage operating rod when installing

10 - Change-over valve for intake manifold flap -N239- 

• Checking. Refer to Change-over valve for intake manifold flap, checking 

11 - Vacuum hose 

• To Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system
