Intake manifold flap, servicing

The intake manifold flap is closed for approx. 3 seconds when stopping engine and then opens again. This reduces the stop jolt.

NOTE:

Components marked with an asterisk (*) are checked via the On Board Diagnostic (OBD) program → Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, checking and erasing

1 - Intake manifold

2 - 10 Nm

3 - O-ring

4 - Connecting flange

With exhaust gas recirculation valve and intake manifold flap
Check the change-over mechanism for the intake manifold flap for ease of movement and function

5 - 10 Nm

6 - Gasket

7 - Connecting line

To cooler for exhaust gas recirculation: → 26 - EXHAUST SYSTEM, EMISSION CONTROLS

8 - 25 Nm

9 - Vacuum control element

Checking → Intake manifold flap change-over valve, checking , Check the change-over of the intake manifold flap
Do not damage operating rod when installing
