Service Interval Display, From 05.1999

With the introduction of the flexible service intervals, only "service" will appear in the display.

Pre-Service Warning 

A pre-service warning for an upcoming service occurs first 3, 000 km (2, 000 miles) before interval has elapsed.

The following will appear in the odometer display for 20 seconds after the ignition is turned on:

               
  service km 3000            
               
               
  service miles 2000            
               

Service 

After the pre-warning has run to the end, service requirement is displayed:

The following will appear in the odometer display for 20 seconds blinking after the ignition is turned on:

               
  Service            
               
NOTE:

By resetting via adjustment button on instrument cluster, service interval is set to 15, 000 km.

It is only possible to set (adapt) the other service intervals using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051B.
