Test sequence

NOTE: The test must be done within 3 minutes after starting the engine.

Start the engine and run at idling speed.
Connect VAG 1715 Multimeter in sequence to glow plug wiring using a current pick -up clamp.
Specified value in VAG 1715 Multimeter display of at least 6A (amps).
If the specification is not obtained, check wiring.
Check DTC memory, and erase DTC memory after correcting malfunctions; see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MEMORY, CHECKING AND ERASING
Read-out the readiness code, see READING READINESS CODE . If the DTC memory has been erased or the Engine Control Module was disconnected from battery positive, the readiness code must be generated again; see READINESS CODE, SETTING .
