Reading Measuring Value Blocks

Read Measuring Value Block, initiating

Special tools and equipment
V.A.G1551 Scan Tool (ST) or VAG1552 mobile scan tool with VAG1551/3 adapter cable

Requirements
- Turn off all electrical consumers (e.g. lights and rear window defroster).
- Turn off air conditioner, if equipped.
- Automatic transmission selector lever in P (Park) or N (Neutral) position
- No malfunctions stored in DTC memory.
Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

- Coolant temperature at least 85°C see display group 004, display field 3

Test procedure
- Connect V.A.G1551 Scan Tool (ST). [1][2]Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Press buttons -0- and -1- to insert "Engine Electronics" address word 01. When doing this engine must be running at idle.

- Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "Read Measuring Value Block" function 08.

Input display group number XXX

- Select required display group number.

NOTE: The display group number 0 is used as an example to illustrate the sequence.

- Press buttons -0-, -0- and -0- to input display group number 00 (000) and press -Q- button to confirm input.

NOTE: To change to another display group proceed as follows:






- If specifications in all display fields are obtained, press -> button.
- If one of the specifications is not obtained Evaluating Measuring Value Blocks
