All Models with Gasoline Engine - Checking Quality of Fuel for Gasoline Engines
Perform the following:
- In a clear graduated container, mix a 50/50 solution of gasoline from the car and water.
- Shake the container for 30 seconds and allow the solution to settle.
- If the solution settles to a 30/70 (gas/water) mixture and not a 50/50 mixture, the fuel quality is in question.
- Check the water portion of the solution for clarity. If the water (bottom) portion is foggy, the fuel quality is in question for alcohol contamination.
NOTE:
If the root cause of the concern is determined to be fuel related, the repair and diagnosis will not be covered under warranty.
