WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Volkswagen EuroVan and 2002 Volkswagen EuroVan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

First digit indicates if kick-down switch is closed. Display showing a "0" indicates kick-down switch is open and a "1" shows kick-down switch is closed. A second digit indicates a "0" for manual or "1" for automatic transmissions. If "1 0" displays, check wiring and connectors between CCM and transmission control module. If wiring is okay, replace faulty control module. If "0 0" displays, testing is not possible because CCM is not turned on, outside temperature is less than 54°F (12°C) or outside temperature sensor is malfunctioning.
