Section 3 (Automatic A/C-Heater Systems): Description

CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, radio will go into anti-theft protection mode. Obtain radio anti-theft protection code from owner prior to servicing vehicle.
The air conditioning system is a cycling clutch type. System components include front evaporator, compressor, A/C pressure switch, expansion valve, receiver-drier, control panel and condenser. If vehicle is equipped with auxiliary (rear) heating and A/C, additional components include auxiliary evaporator and expansion valve. Control panel has 14 push buttons and a display window. See Fig 1 .
Automatic settings remain in memory after ignition is turned off and resume next time ignition is turned on. Manually selected settings such as fan speed and air distribution remain stored in memory for one hour after turning ignition off. After an hour or more, system will restart in automatic mode with previous automatic settings.
