Description & Operation

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

The cruise control system allows driver to maintain a constant cruising speed above approximately 22 MPH without depressing the accelerator pedal. On EuroVan, cruise control system consists of a vacuum pump, vacuum actuator, vent valves and a control module. See Fig 1 .

Cruise control system is operated by placing sliding Cruise Control Switch (CCS) in the ON position. See Fig 2 . Accelerate to desired speed and press the SET button. This sets the cruising speed and stores it in memory. Pushing the SET button again will increase the previous set speed until the button is released. Cruise control system will disengage temporarily when the brake or clutch pedal is depressed. To reactivate system, slide the control switch to RES (resume). The vehicle will automatically accelerate to the previous set speed. To erase set speed from memory, slide the control switch to OFF.
