Basic Setting
- Turn ignition on. If A/C-heater control panel display is flashing, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If a DTC is present, repair problem and clear DTC before proceeding. If no DTC is present, reprogram CCM before performing basic setting. See PROGRAMMING CLIMATRONIC CONTROL MODULE (CCM) .
- Connect Scan Tool (VAG 1551) to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. Input address word 08, AC/HEATING ELECTRONICS. Press right arrow button until SELECT FUNCTION XX appears in display. Press buttons "0" and "4" to select BASIC SETTING function. Press "Q" button to confirm input. ENTER DISPLAY GROUP NUMBER XX should be indicated. Press "0" button 3 times to select ENTER DISPLAY GROUP NUMBER 000 group. Press "Q" button to confirm input.NOTE: Flap motor movement can be verified on scan tool display. Changes in feedback values do not indicate a malfunction.
- Basic setting is completed when display reads "0". Malfunctions recognized by system are stored in DTC memory. Press right arrow button until SELECT FUNCTION XX appears in display. Press "0" and "2" buttons to select CHECK DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MEMORY function.
- Press "Q" button to confirm input. Stored DTCs or NO MALFUNCTION RECOGNIZED should appear in scan tool display. Press right arrow button. Stored DTCs are displayed in order. If no DTCs are present when pressing right arrow button, scan tool will go back to SELECT FUNCTION XX.
