Electronic Control Module (ECM), Modifying ECM Connector To Match Wiring Harness

Technical Background
After engine harness or ECM replacement, the ECM may not mate with the ECM harness connector.

If ECM does not mate with the ECM harness connector:
- Remove tabs on the ECM (arrows A and B) using a soldering pencil (view shows ECM connector without pins).

NOTE: Always wear protective eye wear!
Provide adequate ventilation!
Take care not to damage electrical pins on the ECM!

- Arrow A = 3 tabs to be removed
- Arrow B = 1 tab (longest) to be removed

After this material has been removed from the ECM, the ECM and wiring connector may be properly attached.
