WASTEGATE By-Pass Regulator Valve

  1. Ensure engine oil temperature is at least 176°F (80°C). Disconnect wastegate by-pass regulator wiring harness connector. Start engine. Check for wastegate by-pass regulator valve operating rod movement while slowly accelerating from idle to wide open throttle.
  2. If operating rod does not move and no corrosion is present, replace wastegate by-pass regulator valve. If valve is stuck due to corrosion, replace turbocharger.
