Fuel Leak Check
- Start and run engine at idle. Accelerate several times to bleed any air that may be in fuel system. Disconnect fuel return line from injection pump. Install Adapter Line (VAG 1274/2 and VAG 1274/1A) and Gauge (VAG 1274) to injection pump in place of fuel return line. Clamp fuel supply line at fuel tank with hose clamp.
- Using Hand Pump (US 8086), build up a pressure of 14.5-21.7 psi (1.0-1.5 kg/cm2 ) in fuel system. Due to possible air trapped in system, this may require several tries. Check for fuel leak if pressure drops continuously.
