Generator Warning Light Does Not Light Up With Ignition On
- Ensure belt tension and battery voltage are okay. Ensure ground connections are clean and tight. Disconnect Blue wire from generator D+ terminal and connect it to ground. Turn ignition on.
- If warning light does not come on, check for open wire between generator D+ terminal and warning light. If warning light comes on, ensure ignition is off. Remove voltage regulator from back of generator.
- Check voltage regulator brushes. If brushes are worn, replace voltage regulator. If brushes are okay, check generator rotor. If necessary, replace rotor. If rotor is okay, replace generator diode plate or generator.
