With 1.9L Turbo Diesel Engine

  1. Ensure battery is fully charged. Ensure fuse No. 14 (15-amp) and fuse No. 22 (15-amp) are okay. Ensure installation of (brake) pedal switches for cruise control are okay.
  2. Unsure diesel direct fuel injection engine control module is okay. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Check cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH.
  3. Connect Scan Tool (VAG 1551) using Diagnostic Cable(VAG 1551/3) to Data Link Connector (DTC). Select engine electronics (address word 01). Enter 11 to select log-in procedure and acknowledge with "Q" key.
  4. With log-in procedure displayed on scan tool, enter code number 11463 to activate cruise control. Acknowledge cruise control activation with "Q" key. Disconnect scan tool from DLC. After encoding (activating) diesel direct injection engine control module, test drive vehicle and check for proper operation of cruise control.
