With 1.9L Turbo Diesel Engine
- Ensure battery is fully charged. Ensure fuse No. 14 (15-amp) and fuse No. 22 (15-amp) are okay. Ensure installation of (brake) pedal switches for cruise control are okay. Unsure diesel direct fuel injection engine control module is okay. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS.
- Connect Scan Tool (VAG 1551) using Diagnostic Cable(VAG 1551/3) to Data Link Connector (DTC). Select engine electronics (address word 01). Enter 08 to select read measuring value block and acknowledge with "Q" key.
- Enter display group 06 to display switch positions and acknowledge with "Q" key. Four display fields are shown in lower display line of scan tool. See SCAN TOOL DISPLAY GROUP 06 VALUES table for meaning and fault correction.
