On Board Diagnostics (OBD), 4-SPD. Automatic Transmission 01M

NO DTC RECOGNIZED

VAG 1551 printout  
No DTC recognized! If "No DTC recognized" appears after performing repairs, OBD is completed.
If the automatic transmission does not operate properly after checking DTC memory and correcting any malfunctions:

(2) Check connections for contact corrosion or water ingress and replace if necessary. If solenoid DTCs are displayed then check 10-pin connector on transmission between valve body conductor strip and wiring harness.

If the control module recognized an implausible signal, the connectors for - G38- and -G68- are interchanged
(1) First check connectors for contact corrosion or water ingress and replace if necessary.

DTC 00300

Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor -G93- faulty
(1) A faulty Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor -G93- is indicated.

(2) Check connections for contact corrosion or water ingress and replace if necessary. If solenoid malfunctions are displayed then check 10 -pin connector on transmission between valve body conductor strip and wiring harness.
DTC 00518

Throttle Position (TP) Sensor -G69-
Signal outside tolerance
Open or short circuit
Engine control module -J220- or Throttle position (TP) sensor -G69- faulty
On 6 cylinder or diesel engine vehicles, TP sensor -G69- signal is transmitted via the ECM to the TCM. It can only be checked in measuring value block. If a faulty TP sensor is indicated, then check ECM.
  • If DTC 00638 is displayed, correct first
  • Check wiring and connections according to wiring diagram.
  • See READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK (FUNCTION 08) ; display group numbers 001 and 003
  • Check ECM. See appropriate fuel injection On Board Diagnostic (OBD) article.
  • Replace Throttle Position Sensor -G69- or Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-

    See appropriate Multiport Fuel Injection (MFI) article

    See appropriate Diesel Fuel Injection article

  • See BASIC SETTING, INITIATING (FUNCTION 04)
DTC 00529 & 00532

DTC 00638 & 00641

Signal too large
Transmission becomes too hot, max. 148 C (298 F). If ATF temperature is too high, transmission shifts down into next lower gear.
Trailer load of vehicle too high
  • Observe proper load capacity
