Output Test

  1. Connect battery/alternator tester following manufacturer's instructions. Start engine and turn on all electrical accessories (i.e. headlights, rear window defogger, etc.). Run engine at 1500-2000 RPM.
  2. If charging current is more than 75 amps, charging system is okay. If charging current is less than 75 amps, check specific gravity of battery. If specific gravity is less than 1.22, replace faulty generator. If specific gravity is more than 1.22, charging system is okay.
