Toe-In ADJUSTMEN: Front

  1. Turn steering gear to center position.
    • Turn steering wheel from lock to lock and count number of turns.
    • Turn steering wheel back half the number of turns.
    • Precisely align steering spindle with aid of point on the rubber washer and notch in housing. Point and notch must be aligned. See Fig 1 .
  2. Loosen tie-rod lock nut. See Fig 2 . Loosen steering rack boot clamp.
  3. Turn both tie rods until specification is achieved. Tighten tie-rod lock nut. After adjusting tie rod, ensure rack boots did not turn. Twisted boots will wear out quickly. After tie-rod lock nuts are torqued, recheck all wheel alignment settings and readjust as necessary.
