New 16-pin Date Link Connector (DLC), accessing/connecting

Starting with 1994 m.y., Golf III and Jetta III vehicles produced from August, 1993 are equipped with a new 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC).

This new connector is used to access the vehicle's On Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems when using the VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST).

To access the new DLC,

- remove front ashtray

- slide small cover to the left (in direction of -arrow-)





- connect adapter harness VAG 1551/3 to Data Link Connector (DLC) and to VAG 1551 Scan Tool
