Fox 1.8L Digifant II (Federal)

  1. Ensure ignition was NOT on before starting this test (heating element in regulator should be cold). Ensure engine is cold.
  2. Start engine and allow it to idle. Pinch air hose to regulator. Engine RPM must slightly decrease. If RPM does not decrease, replace auxiliary air regulator.
  3. If RPM does decrease, start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Radiator cooling fan must come on at least 2 times. Pinch air hose to regulator. Engine RPM should not change.
  4. If engine RPM changes, turn ignition off. Disconnect auxiliary air regulator wiring harness. Connect DVOM to wiring harness terminals. Start engine and allow it to idle. DVOM must indicate battery voltage.
  5. If battery voltage is present, replace auxiliary air regulator. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring harness for an open circuit.
