Fox 1.8L Digifant II (Federal)

  1. Ensure Hall Effect sensor and its circuit is okay. Disconnect fuel injector wiring harness. Using test leads from adapter kit, connect LED tester to fuel injector wiring harness connector terminals. Crank engine and observe LED tester. LED tester must flicker.
  2. If LED lights up continuously, repair ground wire between battery and transmission and replace ECM. If LED does not flicker, check fuel injector wiring harness for an open circuit back to Electronic Control Module (ECM). If wiring harness is okay, replace ECM.
  3. If LED tester flickers, turn ignition off and measure fuel injector resistance between fuel rail terminals. If all 4 injectors are okay, resistance should be 3.7-5.0 ohms.
  4. If resistance is greater than 5.0 ohms, remove wiring harness guide from brackets and check individual fuel injector resistance. Individual injector resistance must be 15.0-20.0 ohms. Resistance across each injector harness connector must not exceed 0.5 ohms.
  5. If 3 injectors are okay, resistance should be 5.0-6.7 ohms. If 2 injectors are okay, resistance should be 7.5-10.0 ohms. If only one injector is okay, resistance should be 15.0-20.0 ohms. If necessary, replace injector(s).
