Testing Notes

VAG 1598 TEST BOX, CONNECTING
- Switch OFF ignition.
- Disconnect harness connector 2 from Engine Control Module (ECM) 3.

NOTE: ECM 3 is installed in the engine compartment on driver's side.

- Connect VAG 1598 Test Box to wiring harness connector 2.

NOTE: Digifant Engine Control Module remains disconnected.

VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
NOTE: If the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) "No signal from automatic transmission" is stored in the Transmission Control Module (J 217) due to electrical testing, it must be erased after testing.

- Switch Fluke 83 multimeter to 20 Volt range.
