NOTE: This bulletin supersedes Technical Bulletin Group 25, No. 93-02 dated August 31, 1993.

CONDITION

The 2.0L 16V Engine Volume Air Flow (VAF) Sensor Position Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471, has been superseded by Part No. 051 133 471 A.

The new Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471 A, has gold electrical contacts and can be found on 1993 model year vehicles.

The Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471, is used on all 2.0L 16V engines through model year 1992 and does not have gold contacts.

SERVICE

When VAF Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471 is ordered, it will be superseded by Part No. 051 133 471 A and a set of three gold terminal connectors, Part No. N 903 352 07, will be supplied for installation.

When VAF Sensor Position Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471 A is ordered, it will not be supplied with the gold terminal connectors. If the mating connectors of the wiring harness are not gold then the three terminal connectors, Part No. N 903 352 07, need to be ordered to complete the installation of this component.
