Fuel Delivery
The injection pump draws fuel from fuel tank through fuel filter. It distributes, meters, pressurizes and times fuel to fuel injectors. Excess fuel from injection pump and injectors returns to fuel tank through a return line. See Fig 1 . Diesel fuel cools and lubricates injection pump and injectors. Circulating diesel fuel aids in warming fuel in tank and fuel lines to prevent waxing in cold weather.
