Trouble Shooting
A single power window that does not operate can be tested without disassembling the door. Remove the rocker switch and disconnect harness connector. Turn the ignition on and check for voltage at the connector. Check ground circuit continuity. If voltage is present at connector and ground circuit is okay, check switch continuity and repair or replace as necessary.
NOTE:
On Jetta, an inoperative rear window may be caused by the window mechanism interfering with the motor wiring harness and detaching it from the window switch. To correct the problem, remove the interior door trim panel and secure the harness to the door using a tie-wrap or equivalent.
