Engine Controls - Tests W/Codes - Cis-E MOTRONIC: Introduction

This article applies ONLY to vehicles with CIS-E Motronic fuel injection. Non Motronic CIS-E does not have a self-diagnostic feature. CIS-E Motronic fuel injection is available only on 2.0L 16-valve engines.

If no faults were found while performing preliminary inspection procedures, proceed with self-diagnostics. If no fault codes or only pass codes are present after entering self-diagnostics, proceed to appropriate TESTS W/O CODES article for diagnosis by symptom (i.e., ROUGH IDLE, NO START, etc.).
