(1) TESTING CONDITIONS: Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector from ECU. Connect Test Box (VAG 1598) to ECU harness connector using Adaptor Cable (VAG 1598/2), leaving ECU disconnected.
(2) Turn ignition on, remove fuse No. 18 and jumper terminals No.1 and 24.
(3) Refer to I - SYS/COMP TESTS or SENSOR RANGE CHARTS articles in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
(4) Terminal number indicated is the component's terminal number and not of ECU or Test Box.
(5) Perform test only if engine will not start. Turn ignition off. Instead of multimeter, connect LED Tester (US 1115) using Adapter Kit (VW 1594). Disconnect harness from fuel rail (main injector connector).
VOLTAGE CHECKS (DIGIFANT II) VAG 1598

1 & 13 Wires From Starter Term. 15, Operate Starter, Then Turn Ign. Off 8 Volts Minimum
6 & 10 Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) (2)
6 & 9 Intake Air Temp. Sensor (2) (2)
22 & 23 Idle Stabilizer Valve Circuit, Ign. Off 2-10 Ohms
6 & 8 Hall Sender Circuit, Disconnect & Jumper All Term. Continuity, .5 Ohm Max.
6 & 18 Hall Sender Circuit, Disconnect & Jumper All Term. Continuity, .5 Ohm Max.

(1) TESTING CONDITIONS: Turn ignition off. Disconnect harness connector from ECU. Connect Test Box (VAG 1598) to ECU harness connector using Adaptor Cable (VAG 1598/2), leaving ECU disconnected.
(2) Refer to I - SYS/COMP TESTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section or SENSOR RANGE CHARTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
(3) Terminal No. 6 is Hall Control Unit Green/Black wire terminal.
(4) Terminal No. 5 is 5-Pin connector to fuel injectors, located near coolant reservoir.
