Windshield Washer Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel, refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair.
3. Remove lower and upper trim cover attaching screws and trim covers, if necessary.
4. Remove three attaching screws, then detach switch unit from steering column.
5. Disconnect multi-pin connector, then remove switch unit.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate turn signal cancelling ring with multi-purpose grease.
b. On Vanagon models, adjust clearance between steering wheel and combination switch to 1/16-3/16 inch.
