Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Service and Repair

Volkswagen has no recommended interval for emission control device servicing, the following should be performed during the course of regular maintenance services.

Servicing of the system is limited to periodic inspection of hoses and clamps. Any cracked or leaking hoses must be replaced. The control valve should be checked to insure that accumulated sludge is not blocking the system. If this condition is present, the valve must be cleaned with a suitable parts solvent.
