Code 35 (Chart 2) Discriminating Sensor Open: Description
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 1991 Oldsmobile Toronado, 1991 Cadillac Seville, 1991 Cadillac Eldorado, 1991 Buick Riviera, and 1991 Buick Reatta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Code 35 is set when voltage at SENSE LOW input is 61-78 percent of 36VLR output voltage for 500 milliseconds during CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests performed by DERM. CONTINUOUS MONITORING tests are performed by DERM after initial TURN-ON tests are completed and are performed every 100 milliseconds while IGNITION 1 voltage is present at DERM. If a discriminating sensor is open, voltage at SENSE LOW input will increase due to increase in resistance of discriminating sensor section of deployment loop, and Code 35 will set.
