Digifant II Electronic Control Unit

Some precautions are necessary when servicing DIGIFANT II equipped vehicles. The electronic control unit (ECU) will be electronically damaged when the following conditions are present:

^ shorting out the ignition terminal # 1 to ground during engine adjustment by means of a small screwdriver, paper clip, or nail.
^ a floating ground connection to the ECU'S terminals # 13 and # 19.
(check for a good ground connection at the following locations: Intake Manifold, cooling outlet fitting at engine block, battery minus post where applicable)
^ disconnecting idle stabilizer valve when engine is running.
^ measuring current draw (mAmp) of the idle stabilizer valve with digital multimeter set on the voltage scale.
