Condition

New and rebuilt alternators are supplied by parts without slot for woodruff key.

Production

Since 1987 m.y. alternators are installed in vehicles without woodruff key, however, with the slot present.

This key is not needed for proper function of the alternator, if the shaft nut is torqued correctly.

^ Torque 50 Nm (37 ft lb)

Service:

Do not install woodruff key. Torque pulley nut to specified torque.
