Throttle Full Close Switch: Adjustments

1. Connect test harness (VW 1501) Fig. 8, to the throttle switch connector, and the harness plug.
2. With the ignition switched ON, check voltage between terminal #1 and ground. Battery voltage should be present.
3. Open the throttle, then close it slowly and observe the gap between the throttle lever and the throttle stop screw when the switch ON point is reached. (Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap).
4. The switch ON point should be 0.15 - 0.5 mm (0.006 - 0.020 in).
5. If the switching point is not correct, adjust by loosening the attachment screws and moving the idle switch until the switching position is correct.

NOTE:
The idle switch supplies the control unit with the information for:

a. Idle stabilization
b. Deceleration fuel shut-off
c. Ignition timing parameters
