Throttle Full Open Switch: Adjustments

1. Connect test harness (VW 1501) Fig. 8, to the throttle switch connector, and the harness plug.
2. With the ignition switched ON, test voltage between terminal 3 on the test harness and ground with the throttle fully opened. Battery voltage should be available.
3. Attach a protractor and pointer (tool 3084) to the throttle shaft and throttle housing.
4. Open the throttle to the full throttle stop and zero the pointer.
5. Close the throttle about 20° and then slowly push back towards full throttle and note at what point the switch is tripped.
6. The switch should trip at 10° +/- 2° before full throttle.
7. Adjust switching point if necessary by loosening the attachment screws and moving the switch until the switching point is correct.
