Injection Pump Timing
- Remove plug from injection pump head. Install Adapter (2066) and Dial Gauge (US 1026) to a depth of 0-.118" (0-3 mm). Preload gauge to about .097" (2.5 mm).
- Turn engine slowly counterclockwise until gauge needle stops moving. Zero gauge. Turn engine clockwise until TDC mark on flywheel is aligned with boss on bellhousing.
- If adjustment is necessary, slighty loosen bolts on pump mounting plate. Turn pump to get correct dial gauge reading. Tighten bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (24 N.m). Recheck injection timing.
- When installing plug, replace seal and tighten to 11 ft. lbs. (15 N.m). If leakage occurs, plug can be retightened to 18 ft. lbs. (24 N.m).
